Every election has an issue. Somebody wrote a few days ago that these elections will be know as the 76% elections. Like we had the Ghali ideas elections and the S300 elections.
You see things are very simple. Das TassCamp will obviously come out and say, that since the 76% voted no to the A-Plan, and since it was our man who cried on TV asking you to do so, then its is your patriotic duty to keep the struggle on. On the other hand we will have the Kassoulides posse working based on the Kotler marketing book, and addressing issues such housing prices, the economy, new technologies and Europe. The Christofias camp will simply go to the sheep and ask them to go beee. And they will most probably will.
Deep down though we all know what this election is about. I dont include the politicians in the we, cause it is becoming more and more obvious to all of that these people either they do not get it, or they are just so much after power that they dont want to get it.
This election is about those who believe in a solution for the Cyprob, and those who simply believe that there should just be a wall and thats the end of it.
I am not going to go into the analysis of what is the motivation behind these two extremes, as Dr Mikellides does that very well every Sunday.
What i will put forward here is the some questions for thought.
1. When will Das TassCamp finally come out and say it? WE DONT WANT THE DIRTY TURKS. WE CAN NOT RUN THE SHOW IF TURKS ARE IN THE MATH AS WELL. SO NO SOLUTION IS OUR SOLUTION
2. If they don't, which of course they wont as this would be political suicide (you see grecofascists do not make 51% of the electorate, no matter how hard Lazaros tries), when will the Kassoulides camp attack on this point?
You see, the only way Kassoulides can actually win is if he gets the point across that he can get us a solution that will not be huge compromise, and if he doesn't do it it would be too late. Now, the only way to demonstrate this is by uncovering the TassCamp for what it is. Nazi propaganda 101 sais that if you repeat something enough times and for a sufficient period of time, it becomes truth. Politis has been very successful in this respect. It has repeatedly accused the TassCamp of not wanting a solution, and repeatedly teased Christofias to run for president. Through perseverance alone they have pretty much succeeded in both.
It is Kassoulide's turn now. He must go on TV every day for the next 8 months ans simply say "If you vote for me you vote for a solution, if you vote for the nose, it means you dont believe in a solution and want us to stay behind (or in front of ) the wall"
Make the Cypriots come out and take a position on the real issue of the elections. And if they don't want a solution... ce la vie. Maybe its for the better.
